DINESH NARAYANAN

I’m a Delhi, India-based journalist, columnist, and author of ‘The RSS and the Making of the Deep Nation, an excavation of the mind and method of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the largest and arguably the most influential voluntary organisation in the world. For a brief while, I also wore the hat of an entrepreneur, co-founding a media company and leading its editorial operations. The company, which produced newsletters and podcasts, published ‘The Signal,’ one of India’s most widely read stand-alone business and technology newsletters.
I have spent three decades following economic and political developments in India and South Asia. My work, encompassing corporate investigations, analyses of government policies and public finance, and profiles of political personalities, has received national and international recognition.

THE RSS

AND THE MAKING OF THE DEEP NATION

With political power firmly in favour, it is going all out to embed its ideology deep in India's genetic code. The book traces the RSS's roots and its relentless century-long pursuit of ideological dominance of a nation known for its rich diversity of thought, custom and ritual.
